Design Crush: Winnie Mae Design Co
During my time with Creative Ink Design Firm, I got to meet so many amazing up-and-coming artists, designers, and project managers. I make sure to keep up with my former coworkers and see what they’re up to in the design world, and I especially adore this project, led by my former Creative Ink Artistic Director, Sara Barnett.
Winnie Mae Design Co. began as a Disney merchandise store, but I became interested in it when they began to pivot to Marvel merchandise specifically. The Agatha All Along design initially caught my eye as art that ties together a very modern, feminine, witchy aesthetic taste with a pop-culture icon of the time. Winnie Mae has since pivoted to exclusively Marvel merchandise, as recently announced on their instagram account, and I cannot wait to see all of the products and designs they come up with.
This project is especially inspiring to me as I hope to find opportunities to create more soft-product designs for t-shirts, stickers, keychains, and the like. There’s just something so satisfying about seeing your artwork on a finished product, out in the world. ‘Til I pursue that kind of project on my own though, you can catch me proudly sporting my Winnie Mae Marvel merch!
