Reflections: Sewing Reaper

The winter after my college graduation, a friend approached me with a proposal: design a business logo for a small business- as a surprise present.

Normally, this idea would sound intimidating, to say the least! But I trust my friends, and I was definitely curious. After getting a few more details about the business, the owner, and the products she creates, I felt pretty confident.

Sewing Reaper specializes in custom sewing creations with an unexpected edge. Based on the owner’s sales portfolio, her personal tattoos, and her signature cat-eye glasses, I crafted three logo proposals. Upon her receipt of the proposals and resulting feedback, I combined two concepts, added a pop of red, and brought in a less feminine script font by request.

The surprise design proposal was an exciting project I’d definitely be interested in attempting again!
